Annual Pilgrimage to Knock - Friday 27th to Sunday 29th August 2010

Knock 2010

Elisha LeddyElisha Leddy - Elisha Leddy lives in Cornafean, Co. Cavan in the diocese of Kilmore. Elisha has been a member of the MCPG for the past fourteen years and has served on the core team for the past four years. She is also a member of the Fatima Prayer Group in Cavan. She is involved in the music ministry and says that when we sing we pray twice. Her favourite hymn is "How Great Thou Art". The words "When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation, to take me home what joy shall fill my heart" are profound words of encouragement, and this is one of the hymns she has chosen on her CD entitled "God on the Mountain". Elisha feels privileged to be part of the Prayer Group and enjoys the annual pilgrimages organised by the group. One of the highlights of the pilgrimages was the trip to the "Holy Land" in 2008. Visiting Bethlehem where Jesus was born was awesome. The shepherds field, where the angels sang their great hymns of glory on the first Christmas night, Jerusalem, The Dead Sea,Mount Tabor, Nazareth, and the River Jordan, all brought the bible scripture alive. Elisha has a special love for Our Lady and the Knock shrine, and has worked there for many years, as well as Lourdes, helping the sick and singing God’s praise in music and hymns. She says it is in the "giving" that we receive.

Fr. Joe DelaneyFr. Joe Delaney - I was ordained for Ossory diocese in 1960 atMaynooth. (This year is my Golden Jubilee!) After doing the H.Dip. in Ed, I went to teach (Mathematics) in St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny. I was Headmaster there from 1969 to 1975. After four years in a parish I volunteered for service in Africa with the ‘Kiltegan Fathers’.With them I spent four years in Kenya. When I returned to Ireland in 1983 I was appointed parish priest of Slieverue in South Kilkenny. After eight years there I spent ten years as parish priest of Callan, Co. Kilkenny from 1991 to 2001. I then retired as parish priest and became a curate in St. John’s parish, Kilkenny City. Two years ago I retired ‘fully’ and returned to Callan where I now live. It might be of interest that for the past 18 years I have been involved with Parish Cells for Evangelization.

Fr Ronnie MitchellFr Ronnie Mitchell - Fr. Ronnie is the Provincial of the Montfort Fathers and is based in Southampton. Fr. Ronnie is one of the founder members of the MCPG back in January 1975 and has been involved with the Group ever since. His Gentle but yet Powerful Ministry has brought him all over the world and has made him one of the most sought after priests of the 21st Century. Fr Ronnie needs no introduction to Knock as he has led the Prayer Group since their first Pilgrimage to Knock in 2006.

Vivienne CostelloVivienne Costello - Vivienne is a member of the MCPG along with her husband Vincent whom she met in the Prayer Group. Vivienne has a great devotion to Our Lady so her Talk here at this National Shrine of Our Blessed Mother will be very blessed indeed.
